Spooktacular
The Recreation Department transforms the South Salt Lake Community Center into a Halloween event for families and kids of all ages. The theme changes each year, but the spooky fun and treats stays the same. Everyone leaves with a free pumpkin from our pumpkin patch. Community groups host entertainment dances and song performances. And there's always games and food for all who dare to join.

Spooky City Hall
No one spooks up City Hall like South Salt Lake. All city departments jump in to turn their space into magical spaces for kids and families to roam and get some free treats. This event is tailored for kids ages 12 and under.
Spooky City Hall takes place on October 31 from 3:00-4:45 PM each year (exception to weekend Halloweens).
Trunk or Treat
Promise South Salt Lake create a safe space for kids and families to come together, show off costumes, and get some free candy with Trunk or Treat. This event is hosted in conjunctin with the Lights On Afterschool program, and each year various community panters join the event to offer resource education and activities. We are always looking for groups and individuals to host trunks (decorate your car trunk and hand out candy to kids). If you're interested in host a trunk at the next event, contact us at promise@sslc.gov.

Breakfast with Santa
A seasonal favorite for the holiday season--families are invited to get up early and enjoy some breakfast (courtesy of the Lions Club) with a photo opportunity with Santa. The morning include some festive entertainment, giveaways, and warm feelings with neighbors for the holiday season.

Quiet Time with Santa & Mrs. Claus
This holiday event is tailored for our special needs families who would appreciate a visit with Santa without the loud noise and overwhelming crowds. This is a small-scale event with limited capacity. Registration is required.

A fun event for the whole family to celebrate togetherness. We like to think of it as a family ball where everyone can have fun. And althought it's a princess-themed party, dressing up is not required (but dress up in any way you feel comfortable). Event activities include crafts, games, refreshments, music, and dancing.
Ties & Tiaras takes place at the South Salt Lake Community Center from 6-9 PM. The February date varies so check back for specifics on the next event.
Children up to 12 years of age are welcome to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt and Tiny Tots Fair. Family photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny before the egg hung. Egg hunt times are separated by age. The Tiny Tots Fair takes place from 9-10:30 AM with community partners providing early learning resources and activities.
