Help Spread Holiday Cheer

Season of Sharing is a time for our community to come together during the holiday season to support families in our community with the highest needs.  We work with our local schools, afterschool programs, and city staff to get referrals of families to support. Through community involvement, we have provided essential basic needs and holiday wish list items for local kids and families over the years.


Season of Sharing is a program in coordination with Promise South Salt Lake, South Salt Lake Youth City Council, and South Salt Lake Police Athletics and Activities League.


This is a great opportunity to get in the holiday spirit and get your family, friends, neighbors, clubs, church, businesses, and any others to come together to provide a special and memorable holiday season for yourselves and our neighbors. There are three ways to give back listed below:


Ways You Can Support

Donate money or items by Monday, December 15. Questions? Call 801-483-6057.

1) Make a tax-deductible donation of any amount and let us do the shopping.

  • Donate Online
    • Click here or visit sslpal.org to make a tax-deductible gift through the PAL website (in the notes add “Season of Sharing”)
  • Donate Via Phone
    • To make a donation over the phone, call Alli at (801) 412-3607
  • Donate Via Mail
    • Mail a donation check made payable to SSL Police / Athletics League (note “Season of Sharing" in the memo), and mail to South Salt Lake Police Athletics / Activities League. c/o Alli Lachowsky 2835 S Main Street. South Salt Lake City, UT 84115

2) Donate toys and gifts for ALL ages.

  • Donate new and unwrapped items to stock Santa’s Workshop where families in need will have the opportunity to shop for gifts and other items for FREE to make their holiday season special. See our wish list below. Return the unwrapped items to the Promise South Salt Lake Office by December 15. Consider hosting a toy/donation drive to collect items. 

3) Volunteer

  • Help us set up and organize the space, greet families, and guide them through picking their gifts, wrap gifts, and more. Visit our Volunteer page to see opportunities in December. 

Wish List

Below are several ideas, but feel free to get other things that may not be listed. We collect gifts for ALL ages.

    • Cleaning supplies (laundry detergent, dish soap, disinfectant wipes, all-purpose cleaner, etc.)
    • Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, tissues)
    • Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soaps, etc.)
    • Personal hygiene items (toothpaste/brushes, deodorant, feminine products, diapers)
  • Gift Cards (Preferably $25-$50)
    • Gas or Grocery (Walmart, Smiths, Target, or WinCo)
    • Amazon
    • Restaurants/entertainment
  • Holiday Gift Ideas
    • Toys for all ages, stuffed animals, dolls, toy cars, action figures, Legos, sleds, etc.
    • Board games and card games
    • Puzzles and books
    • Hats, gloves, scarves, slippers, pajamas
    • Sports equipment and gear
    • Arts and crafts supplies/kits
    • Jewelry or jewelry-making kits
    • Wallets, purses, bags, fanny packs, totes, etc.
    • Watches and bracelets
    • Headphones/earbuds, Bluetooth speakers
    • Lotions, colognes/perfumes/body sprays
