Homeless Resource Officers
Our Homeless Resource Officer team specializes and focuses on assisting community members experiencing homelessness within our city. South Salt Lake Homeless Resource Officers are working diligently to fill the gap in services and provide assistance to those in need. South Salt Lake Police is allotted ten homeless resource officers supervised by one sergeant. These dedicated officers have attended enhanced crisis intervention training to better serve individuals experiencing crisis in a more effective manner. These officers work closely with the Huntsman Mental Health Institute, particularly with the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), the Road Home-The Pamela Atkinson Resource Center staff and personnel and the South Salt Lake Justice Court to provide care to those requiring additional support.
